His interest in photography was given a serious nudge when
the United States Marine Corps stationed him in Japan,
where he took advantage of the free use of fully equipped
darkrooms, great prices on cameras, a beautiful foreign country,
and a bird's eye view of the world's most deadly aircraft
from his perch in the control tower.

Upon returning to the 'States and civilian life,
Jerry soon found himself operating several portrait studios,
including a chain consisting of six stores all in major malls.
When boudoir became popular, Jerry   was "all over it"!
Model portfolios, car & motorcycle magazines,
posters, and calendars followed quickly in a natural progression.
